Bristol Black Archives Partnership (BBAP) has only a small range of people put forward for the 2009 calendar. A good number and range of black people were picked for both the 2007 and 2008 calendars and BBAP would like to repeat this success! The idea of the calendar is to profile black people who have made (and those that still continue to do so) a positive contribution to community, education, health, business, charity,community and many more areas.

The next Equalities Network will take place on Tuesday 25 November, 10am - 12.30pm in the Terrace Room, at the Lighthouse Building, Barton Hill Settlement, Ducie Road, Bristol BS5 9JH. This meeting will include a presentation by Qaiser Razzak, Manager of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission, English Regions, South West office. Do you want to find out more about Hate Crime, what it is and how to challenge it? Would you like to understand the impact of Hate Crime and how to report it? *** NEW DIRECTOR FOR ERIC ***
Jenny Perez has been appointed Director of ERIC (Education and Resources for Improving Childhood Continence). Jenny, former Project Manager for Bristol City Council's 'Read a Million Words', will use her wide experience in the voluntary sector to lead ERIC and its team of 13 forward. ERIC is the Bristol based, national charity that provides information and support on childhood bedwetting, daytime wetting and soiling. Jenny succeeds Penny Dobson who announced her retirement earlier this year after 20 years as Director of ERIC.

Bristol Food Links is an umbrella organisation working to promote healthy, sustainable and affordable food across the City. At 162 Pennywell Road, Easton, Bristol, BS5 0TX. Presented by Jim Davis from the Children's Society. The'Good Childhood Inquiry' is undertaking a substantial review of the information and
evidence about the experience of childhood in the 20th Century and is due to publish a substantial report early in 2009. The Inquiry Panel have commissioned research and public opinion polls as well as engaging children and young people in this far reaching exercise that will help shape our understanding of modern childhood and raise important questions for public debate.
