The deadline for Expressions of Interest and return of the Pre-Tender Questionnaire is: 24th October 2008. This process is being undertaken using the Bristol e-Procurement System (BEPS). All interested organisations will need to be registered on the system and download further information and the correct documentation from the site. *** NEW MINISTER FOR THE THIRD SECTOR ***
Kevin Brennan, MP for Cardiff West, has been appointed the new Minister for the Third Sector. Mr Brennan was formerly a parliamentary under-secretary at the Department for Children, Schools and Families . He replaces Phil Hope, who has been promoted to minister of state at the Department of Health.

*** NAVCA CONSULTATION ON THE CHARITABLE INCORPORATED ORGANISATION - THE NEW LEGAL FORM FOR CHARITIES ***
The Office of the Third Sector and the Charity Commission have launched a consultation on the Charitable Incorporated Organisation - the new legal form for charities. NAVCA strongly urges members to read the consultation documents and to consider replying to the consultation. NAVCA will also be sending in a response.

Google have committed £10 Million to fund up to five ideas to change the world, in the hope of helping as many people as possible. Categories include community, opportunity, energy, environment, education and shelter. Applications must be submitted by 20 October 2008.
>> SOUTH GLOUSCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL SMALL (REVENUE) GRANTS
Small (Reveneue) Grants of up to £3000 are awarded to local South Gloucestershire Groups to develop projects and provide activities that meet local needs in a wide variety of areas. The closing date for applications is 04 November 2008.
>> THE JOANNE'S TRUST
The Trust awards grants to registered charities in the UK that support and involve young people aged 11 - 25 in community projects, particularly those that lead to education, employment and integration. The deadline for applications is 31 December 2008.
