*** BRISTOL MISSES OUT ON NEW WORKING NEIGHBOURHOODS FUNDING ***
Last week the Government announced which areas would receive the Working  Neighbourhoods Fund (WNF) to replace Neighbourhood Renewal funding, which ends in  March 2008. 66 Local authorities have been awarded WNF but Bristol (listed 68th in  eligibility) will receive no WNF. *** HOW WILL THE VCSE SECTOR COPE WITH THIS REDUCTION IN FUNDING? ***
The Voscur Assembly on 23 January 2008, will be looking at what can be done to to  reduce the impact on the vcse sector of reduced regeneration funding. Elected  members and officers responsible for regeneration at Bristol City Council will be  outlining what support will be available to mitigate against the impact of a  drastic reduction in funding from March 2008. *** NEW INDICES OF MULTIPLE DEPRIVATION PUBLISHED ***
New Indices of Multiple Deprivation figures have been released, the first new data  since 2004. The figures show that despite years of regeneration funding targeted  at parts of Bristol, persistent pockets of deprivation remain. Read more at  http://www.voscur.org/node/2389

THE PLANNING BILL (closes 19 February 2008)
The Government published a Planning White Paper on 21 May 2007, which made a  number of general proposals to streamline plan production.
