This conference aims to explore some of the issues around living together in a large and diverse city, and what it's like to live in Bristol in 2007. We will be exploring these issues with guest speakers and a series of workshops throughout the day. The conference will be attended by Bristol residents, members of community and residents' groups, voluntary and community sector groups, community development workers, councillors, statutory sector workers. According to a government survey 80% of people in Bristol are concerned about climate change but not always aware of what it means to them. The next Voscur meetings in North Bristol will look at the threat of climate change and what the likely local impact could be on the CVS, how you could help reduce the impact of climate change and what national and local climate change initiatives you should be prepared for. Funderfinder People In Need (PIN). Voscur has recently received a number of enquiries from member groups asking to help find grants for the clients they are supporting. In an effort to respond to the needs of members, Voscur will be launching a new service at the members desk. The PIN programme consists of approximately 4,000 charitable trusts and foundations that will fund individuals in the UK. Relevant personal details such as age, gender and neighbourhood, along with information about why the money is required, will help match people to potential funders. So keep an eye out for the launch of Voscur's New FREE People in Need Funderfinder service.

At the last Voscur AGM in September 2006, members supported the introduction of a small fee for Voscur membership. We will be introducing the sliding scale of Voscur membership fees in April 2007. We are currently updating our information on existing Voscur members, so we can invoice them correctly. Asylum Monologues is a play about the UK's Asylum system using personal testimonies (scripted by Sonja Linden). Free entry, live music, refreshments. A commemorative civic service to mark the date that King George III signed the abolition of the Slave Trade Act.
